When can I check in and check out?

You can check in from 3 pm and can check out on the day of your departure as late as 12 noon. Our reception is staffed 24/7.

When is the reception open?

Our reception is there for you every day, 24/7. This gives you flexibility and special service for your stay.

Where can I park?

There are 2 parking garages within a radius of about 500m which are always open. An area for loading and unloading luggage is available right in front of the Oberdeck.

How much do the car parks nearby cost?

A day ticket for the parking garage at Altona train station costs 12 euros, and one for the Mercado parking garage costs 15 euros. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Can I reserve a parking space?

The parking garages in the immediate vicinity offer parking spaces for long-term parkers. Please enquire directly with the provider, APCOA Parking.

Is there a shuttle service from/to the airport?

You can easily reach the airport from Altona station using the S-Bahn 1 (green line), by taxi, or with car and ride-sharing services.

How much does a studio apartment cost?

Our prices depend on the size of the apartment and whether it has a balcony or not. No matter how many people move into your new temporary home, you pay per studio apartment, not per person. We offer deals at a special price for long-staying guests. The current daily rate is reduced as follows, depending on the length of your booking: by 10% when staying at least 30 days, by 15% when staying at least  90 days, and by 20% when staying 180 days or more.

Is there a minimum length of stay?

You can book a studio apartment starting from a stay duration of 2 nights. The longer you stay, the more you save. We offer deals at a special price for long-staying guests. The current daily rate is reduced as follows, depending on the length of your booking: by 10% when staying at least 30 days, by 15% when staying at least  90 days, and by 20% when staying 180 days or more.

How many people do the studio apartments accomodate?

Depending on availability, you can rent a studio apartment for up to 2 people. It is therefore the ideal temporary home away from home for business travellers as well as weekend tourists.

When do I have to pay for my studio apartment?

Guaranteed Reservation is only possible against an advance down payment. We accept all common means of payment. Booking on the phone is only possible using Sofortüberweisung (immediate transfer).

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay with the following methods of payment: AMERICAN EXPRESS, Mastercard, VISA, PayPal, Klarna.

Can I book by phone?

Yes, you can book a studio apartment by phone if you pay by Sofortüberweisung.

Staying

How is it different from staying in a hotel?

OBERDECK offers you a stylishly furnished temporary home, in an absolutely prime location. You enjoy more privacy and independence than in a hotel. You can provide for yourself in the fully equipped kitchen just like at home.

What is a serviced apartment or boarding house?

Serviced apartments or boarding houses offer furnished living, including a fully equipped kitchen, for longer stays or intermediate rentals with hotel-like services, such as a reception or cleaning. They are generally cheaper than hotels while offering more privacy than a standard sublease for a limited period.

What services does OBERDECK offer?

With us, you live independently and flexibly, just like you’re familiar with from home. If you have any problems at any point, there is someone at reception 24/7, who will be glad to help you. After consulting with you, we will gladly take receipt of your post or bring your delivered purchases into your studio apartment. We also offer additional cleaning for a fee.

Is smoking permitted?

OBERDECK is a smoke-free building.

Can I use the roof terrace?

Yes. The roof terrace is freely accessible to all guests from March to Octobre.

Does OBERDECK have a restaurant?

No, but within just a few metres, you will find one of the biggest restaurant areas in the city. Whether it’s haute cuisine, fast food or a bakery you’re looking for, you are guaranteed to find what you need.

Do you serve breakfast?

In your studio apartment, you will have a fully equipped kitchen plus a Nespresso machine and a toaster. There are a number of bakeries and breakfast cafés in the direct neighbourhood. The Oberdeck does not offer any breakfast service.

Are the studios barrier-free?

We have one barrier-free studio apartment. However, from the lift to the roof terrace there is a small set of stairs.

Is there free Wi-Fi?

Yes, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the entire building.

How do I get from A to B the fastest?

Hamburg’s transport network is very well-developed: in addition to numerous bus lines, overground S-Bahn as well as underground trains and taxis, you can make use of the car-sharing services Car2go and DriveNow or the ride-sharing service MOIA. For sports fans and city visitors, bike-sharing services such as StadtRAD and the new e-scooters from Lime, Circ and Tier are just the thing.

Where is the nearest supermarket?

REWE City is just 150 metres away from OBERDECK. Further supermarkets can be found in the immediate vicinity. If you need guidance, feel free to contact our colleagues at reception.

You can conveniently order your purchases from the REWE delivery service and have them delivered to OBERDECK. After consultation with you, we will take receipt of your delivery and put the food in your fridge.

Is there a laundry service?

A washing machine, dryer, ironing boards and irons are available to you in our laundry room.

Do you offer anti-allergy bed linen?

Yes, all studio apartments are essentially equipped with anti-allergy bed linen.

Can I borrow an umbrella?

“Schietwetter” (“awful weather”) can surprise you in Hamburg. That’s why we have umbrellas for our guests to borrow. Please ask at reception.

Can I receive post at OBERDECK?

Yes, you can arrange with us to have your post and newspapers delivered to OBERDECK’s address. For larger packages, we ask you to contact us separately. We do not assume any liability.

How sustainable is OBERDECK?

Sustainability is very important to us. You can help us in this by not having your towels changed daily. Our shampoos and personal care products come from local, sustainable providers. We make every effort to carry out our correspondence for the most part electronically. Our motto is “think before you print”, in line with the notion of the “paperless office”.

Where can I find tips on cultural and leisure options?

We have put a few ideas together for you in our “Information & tips” section. Feel free to also ask at reception. Most attractions can be reached on foot or by a short bus or train ride, such as the St Pauli Piers, the Fish Market, the Reeperbahn,  St Michael’s Church – “Michel”, the Elbphilharmonie, the St Pauli and Schanze district, and much more.
